DAY BY DAY ITINERARY
DAY 1: Overnight Flight
Depart for India. DAY 2: Delhi
Arrive in the capital of India and meet your tour manager. After checking into your hotel, begin to explore New Delhi on a guided tour. Experience a vibrant mix of cultures that resulted from Hindu, Muslim and British rule. In the evening enjoy a welcome dinner atop the ramparts of the old Hauz Khas Village. (B) DAY 3: Delhi
A morning sightseeing tour of Old Delhi introduces you to the Red Fort; built in the 17th century it is the largest monument in Old Delhi. Discover the centuries-old, international marketplace, Chandni Chowk, also known as Moonlight Square. In the afternoon take a cycle-rickshaw ride through the bustling silver and spice markets, to the elegant Jamma Masjid, the largest mosque in Asia. (B) DAY 4: Udaipur
Depart for a morning flight to the romantic city of Udaipur. An afternoon city tour includes the city palace, the ornamental garden Saheliyon-ki-bari and the ornate Jagdish Temple. In the evening, enjoy a sunset cruise around Lake Pichola, visiting the island of Jag Mandir. (B) DAY 5: Samode
In the morning fly to Jaipur and continue on to Samode for an afternoon Camel Safari through local villages. End your ride at a 1,000 year old Shiva Temple for prayers. In the evening, tour the palace and eat dinner atop the ramparts relaxing to the lively sounds of Indian folk music. (B) DAY 6: Jaipur
In the morning return to Jaipur. An eclectic mix of ornate palaces and bustling street markets, the city highlights both the pageantry of the country's Maharajas as well as the everyday lives of ordinary Indians. An afternoon sightseeing tour includes the Maharaja's City Palace, home to the Jaipur royal family, the Jantar Mantar (Royal Observatory), and the Hawa Mahal or "Palace of the Winds." (B) DAY 7: Jaipur
Visit the imposing Amber Fort this morning. Like Maharajahs of yore, sit atop beautifully decorated elephants for your ascent to the fort. Within the fort walls lies an assortment of buildings including the Hall of Mirrors, Kali's Temple, palaces with latticed windows and beautifully sculpted architecture. The afternoon is free to explore Jaipur however you please. (B) DAY 8: Agra
Travel to Fatehpur Sikri, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After touring the deserted city continue to Agra. In the afternoon visit the magnificent Taj Mahal, the most extravagant monument ever built for love. Taking 20,000 craftsmen and laborers more than seven years to build, the palace is a thrilling mable structure that has to be seen to be fully appreciated. From a distance, it seems to float, like a fantastic mirage, upon the banks of the Yamuna River. (B) DAY 9: Agra
In the early morning, travel to the bank of the Yamuna River to enjoy a spectacular view of sunrise over the Taj Mahal—an image you're sure to never forget. After breakfast, explore the Agra Fort. At the tomb of Itmad-ud-daulah, observe early examples of the architecture used in the Taj Mahal. The afternoon is free. (B) DAY 10: Overnight Flight
Travel to Sikandra to visit the tomb of Emperor Akbar before continuing on to Delhi. Your final afternoon in India is free for last minute souvenir shopping before an evening flight back to the USA. (B) DAY 11: Departure
